** Bison and the Nez Perce Tribe. Presented by Nokia Williamson, Cultural Resource Director for the NPT. Nokia's talk centered on the history of the Nez Perce Tribe, including their genesis story and their connection to the land and it's creatures, with a focus on the importance of bison to the NPT culture.
** The American Prairie Reserve. A presentation by Dr. Kyran Kunkel, Chief Scientist for APR. APR's vision is "to create and manage a prairie-based wildlife reserve that will protect a unique natural habitat, provide lasting economic benefits, and improve public access to and enjoyment of the prairie landscape." Bison, as Dr. Kunkel described, play a large part in that vision.
** USFS/GNF North Hebgen Project. An update on work by the Gallatin National Forest on their North Hebgen project. The project includes, among many facets, work to enhance wildlife habitat. That work could increase areas suitable for bison in the Hebgen Basin. Presented by Keith Konen and Courtney Frost.
